Watch ‘Where Is the Friend's Home?’ before turning 14

Abbas Kiarostami’s movie ‘Where Is the Friend's Home?’ has been selected to go on screen at the 40th edition of the Fajr Film Festival in Tehran.

‘Where Is the Friend's Home?’ is the first movie that introduced Kiarostami as a director to the international audience.

It is the first film of the Koker trilogy made by the acclaimed director; and it will be screened at the Fajr fest in Milad Tower.

The British Film Institute has previously selected Kiarostami’s movie ‘Where Is the Friend's Home?’ as one of the 50 films in the world’s cinema history that should be watched before 14.

An extract about ‘Where Is the Friend's Home?’ on Vox Website reads, “Kiarostami’s first internationally-known film is his hardest film too. The story is simple on paper; it’s about a boy who realizes that he has taken his friend’s notebook home and has to find his house and give it back to him; however, the underlining meaning is so deep and the film focuses on who is a good man and how people should help each other. Kiarostami’s heroes are usually very old or very young letting him present moral lessons in simple situations. ‘Where Is the Friend's Home?’ is a great film for children, yet it penetrates into the mind of adults.”

Akira Kurosawa, the world-known Japanese filmmaker, said ‘Where Is the Friend's Home?’ is one of his favorite films.
